Lenzing Modal® is a great partner for cotton and helps to enhance water absorbency in Lenzing Modal®/cotton blends.Lenzing Modal® is highly absorbent and quickly soaks up water so that it still feels dry even when holding a considerable amount of moisture. Faster absorption and wicking both help to ensure that Lenzing Modal® towels dry efficiently because the towel is more evenly wetted over a larger surface area.

Lenzing Modal® keeps colors radiant for longer than other fibers. Even after 25 washes Lenzing Modal® colors remain bright and strong. Greying that is often found with 100% cotton terry does not occur with Lenzing Modal®. Even in blends with cotton, the Lenzing Modal® will help to maintain the best possible color brightness.

For example, the photographs below demonstrate this quite clearly. After 10 washes the 100% cotton towel has already faded but the colors in the Lenzing Modal®/cotton blend towel still remain strong.

UNIQUE COLOR EFFECTS FOR AN UNEQUALLED PRODUCT

Basically the dyeing behaviour of Lenzing Modal® is almost identical to that of cotton. The use of reactive dyestuffs and the processing of for example pure cotton yarns and yarns of 100% Lenzing Modal® in one and the same product allow the production of unique two-color effects in only one dyeing process. This allows more scope for unique designs in terry fabrics.

Wonderful color contrast effects are possible in combination with cotton.

The right product

Lenzing Modal® offers various fiber titre alternatives depending upon the particular properties wanted. The fiber titre has a most significant effect on the handle and visual appeal of terry towelling. For instance, towels made using 100% MicroModal® are softer than Lenzing Modal®.

The softness of Lenzing Modal® is partly due to the fiber’s surface smoothness which readily enhances the hand of cotton blends. Cotton blends give the best possible towelling performance and aesthetics.
